Things you need to make an earring using a fabric

February 25, 2014
Firstly, before I prolong, I would like to say ‘don’t ever think you can’t do it, because you really can as long as you believe in yourself.’
When I first started making my own earrings, I was stunned by the compliments I got from strangers, friends and families. It’s really amazing because it gives you the ability to express yourself through your designs and to have something unique when you go out.
A lot of people have been asking me about the products I use to make the earrings.
These are the things I used, therefore, they are the ones I will recommend to you. However, you are free to experiment and explore with anything you think will make a great earring :).
1. You will need a fabric (old or new) doesn’t really matter as long as it’s straighten/ironed. I tend to go for bold printed design fabrics because they are easy to cutout (oh yes I love the Kente print).

2. You would need a fabric stiffener.

3. You will need a small size painting brush.

4. A scissors for cutting.

5. You will need a ruler/tape measure for measurements.

6. You would need two different types of glue, one which is a fabric glue and the other which is an iron glue.

7. You will need an earring stud post and back which can be found on eBay.

8. Packaging: this totally depends on how you want to present you item.

9. All these products can be bought from to save you the hassle of going into a store.
